As long as you are up for it, always favor high heels. The added height makes for cleaner lines, extra confidence and a polished look. Flats are great but there nothing like the added boost of a heeled shoe.
If stacked and thin heels don't agree with your feet, try on a wedge. It is the perfect compromise. You still get the added inches without the pain.

When picking out a high heel, it must pass the walk-in-them test. Remember, you should always be able to fully extend your leg when walking. If you catch yourself walking with bended knees like a robot you probably went too high! ;)
