It's a wrap on 2010!

I would like to bid 2010 farewell and look to 2011 with the same enthusiasm a kid has when learning new things. With every new year comes hope and excitement. This anticipation fuels our desire to make NY resolutions and enables us to take giant leaps towards our futures.
Ready or not, tonight is the night and we are going to party like it's 1999. Hope your outfit is laying on your bed ready and that you will ring in the New Year in style with those you love. At the end of the day they are all that matter.
Thank you for making 2010 truly unforgettable. Next year will only be bigger, better and badder. We have so many surprises lined up for you. So we hope that you will join us on this journey towards living your most fabulous life.
2010 you have been very good to us!
Love,
Kelie XO

DESIGNER WATCH: Kenneth Cole!

"To be aware is more important than what you wear", says Kenneth Cole and we couldn't agree more. The 1996 CFDA Award for Humanitarian Excellence recipient, as been a voice for AIDS awareness since 1985 making him the first in the fashion industry to take a public stand against the disease. This only 3 years after launching his iconic brand. Kenneth Cole's fashion empire now consists of 3 labels: Kenneth Cole New York, Reaction Kenneth Cole and Unlisted.com and offers a wide range of products such as luggage, watches, apparel, hosiery and shoes.
It all started in December 1982, when Cole launched a ladies' footwear collection. Little did we know at the time, this small business would grow to offer over 30 product categories a decade later and make the Forbes annual list of the world's 200 Best Small Companies in America for more than 6 years in a row. Kenneth Cole's products can be found in Asia, North America, South America, the Middle East and Europe in over 20 cities such as Kuwait, Thailand, Peru, Germany and the UK.
Cole's 1996 award was only a stint, he has also received a Media Spotlight Award from Amnesty International, an Extraodinary Voice Award from Mother's Voices, a Humanitarian Leadership Award from the Council on Foundations to only name a few. "What you stand for is more important than what you stand in", says the designer. This is a motto he obviously lives by and which we can all be inspired by.

Feel good holiday shopping!

I love this Smashbox lipgloss set for many reasons. It caught my attention as soon as I walked passed the Sephora goodie boxes by the cash registers. All these sparkling colors which I know would look great on any complexion for only $29? Momentarily I thought I died and went to cosmetics heaven. Without thinking twice I picked up the last box and made my way to the cashier along with my other finds; 3 NARS eyeshadows and TARTE's gold jewelry box. Unberknownst to me at the time I was not only making an impulsive purchase, let's be honest, but I was also partnering with an organization which provides medical care, life-saving research and on-going education to help millions of kids overcome diseases and injuries of every kind. In fact, $1 of each purchase from the WISH collection up to $25, 000 will go towards granting wishes this holiday season. Contributing to the Children's Miracle Network didn't only look good but it felt really good.

Spotlight on the Sartorialist

On the street.. Young London, London.
Why we love this look?
Being young is about freedom. Freedom to be yourself, even if it means shaving most of your hair! We also love the deconstructed skirt with chunky high heel boot in eggplant color paired with a simple blazer. THAT'S SO FASHION WITH A CONSCIENCE!

It's deco time, First Family style!

It's amazing how the holidays bring people together. It took about 100 volunteers to decorate the White House. You might not have 100 people to help you put up your decorations this year but at least you don't have to put up 19 christmas trees! Now, Mrs O's take on the work they did! I love Christmas! Kelie, OH! OH! OH!

Purse or Murse for your MacBook???

I remember how impressed I was when I first walked into the Apple store. Since then, Apple has not seized to amaze me. Here is a fabulous collaboration between the giant and environmentally friendly Matt & Nat! There are many more styles and colors for you to choose from here! Finally a laptop bag that looks like a purse or a murse for the gentlemen! RITUAL by Matt & Nat, $180.
MOTTO by Matt & Nat, $195.

EDITOR'S JOURNAL: Holiday issue!

What do granny smith apples, Marilyn Monroe's lipstick de choix and a raging fire have in common? The color red, my personal favorite color. Red is the color of passion, energy and enthusiasm. Remember the expression: RED HOT? Red is also the color of Aids Awareness. Aids is a daunting illness which affects us all no matter where we were born, where we live or where we are going.
This season giving back is also red hot! Think about it! What better way to spend the holidays than by being with the ones you love all the while bringing joy to complete strangers.Having the ability to reach others is so simple and you can have it to. We will post many different gift options for you to choose from throughout the month of December in our Feel Good Shopping for the Holidays. A great example of holiday cheers is our Designer Watch focus this month. Kenneth Cole does more than design a very profitable line but uses his influence to raise awareness on the rampant disease. He brings awearness like only he could through his "wear a rubber" line which benefits amfAR, the Foundation for AIDS research.
Make this December doubly jolly by loving and giving. Stay tuned, we'll tell you how!
Love,
Kelie XO
