Making time to...Part 2

Since your body ages just as fast as time passes, be good to it for it's days are numbered.
- Eat healthy, your body will reward you for it.
- Treat yourself whenever you feel like you need it.
- Be kind to your mind it will thank you for it.
- Be as pretty as you think you are.
- Act as SMART as you are.
- Get regular check ups and follow what your doctor tells you.
- Make time to get your manicure, pedicure, eyebrows and hair done.
- RELAX!!! Visit the spa regularly for massages and facials.
On a budget? Invest in good DIY tools like tweezers, cuticule remover, base coat, top coat and a few nail polish shades to complement your skin tone.
We recommend Nail Tek Foundation II and Intensive Therapy as base and top coat.
Product Details
For my cuticules I love using REVLON's Cuticule Remover.
Revlon Cuticle Remover Creamy Gentle Formula 14.7ml/0.5oz
As for nail colors O.P.I. and Essie get my vote. Must have shades: red, pink, and ivory.
Select the shade that suits you the best. And remember that there is nothing vain about taking care of yourself.

My sincerest apologies

I would like to apologize for being m.i.a. for the past several days. I have definitely missed you guys and want to pick up right were we left off. I was sick with a stomach flu. I spent the week in bed trying to get back on my feet. I had a lot of time to rest and think about how fragile we are. I also was excited to get healthy and dive back into the fashion world head first. I watched one of my favorite movies while in convalescence and ROTFL watching this part:
"
Emily: Andrea, my God! You look so chic. Andy Sachs: Oh, thanks. You look so thin. Emily: Really? It's for Paris, I'm on this new diet. Well, I don't eat anything and when I feel like I'm about to faint I eat a cube of cheese. I'm just one stomach flu away from my goal weight. "
- The devil wears Prada
Unlike Emily, I have reached my goal weight but I wish it would have been through diet and exercise!
Love,
Kelie XO

Making time to... part 1

The January issue is dedicated to "making time". The first thing I am making time for is controlling my spending, my time spending that is. Time is a precious resource that we unfortunately can never retrieve. I have always loved the popular soap opera tag line: " Like sand through the hour glass, so are the days of our lives.
Since time is always moving, it is important to use it wisely and never take it for granted. So for the entire month of January I decided to track my spending and evaluate my return on investment.
What are you doing with the time that has been granted to you? Where is your sand going?
Love,
Kelie XO

Editor's Journal: Time to begin!

About 80% of individuals who make new year resolutions break them before January 31st. I was one of those people once. All the good intentions in the world could not help me follow through with my then seemingly logical and attainable goals. Thank goodness, I wizened up several years ago and stopped making resolutions all together. In lieu of setting myself up for failure, I found a better way to bring positive change into my life at a healthy pace. Over the years, this method has proven to be very effective. What is it, you ask? Well instead of formulating one or more resolutions at the debut of each year I decided to give each one of them a title. By doing so I gave myself a general direction to guide my steps throughout the year and it worked like magic! For example, the title for 2003 was No More Drama! Like for Mary J. Blige, it worked! I had just come out of a relationship and needed to clean house! This title helped me focus on the things that made me happy, cleaning out the people and situations which were negative. By the end of 2003 my world was drama free. Not convinced? Try it for yourself! Select a title which means something to you and is easy to remember. This simple catch phrase will replay in your head like your favorite song and will keep you on track. You will be amazed by your progress. This year I chose: "Make time!" It is simple, yet encompasses everything that I could have formulated in a list of resolutions. Like my new year title this issue is focused on making time; time to collect yourself, enhance your life and sprinkle goodness in your world. A perfect example of that is Tory Burch, our DESIGNER WATCH subject. To find out how making time will change your life this year, tag along for the ride by way of FWAC! Love, Kelie
