Milan: Too cool for School - Moschino

Moschino brought it back with this show reminiscent of the AC/DC era.

Milan: Walk in the park!

Etro (below) and D&G (above) were both inspired by the outdoors for their runway design it seems. Kean Etro opted for dark hunter green grass to complement his chic tailoring and color pallette. While D&G opted for fresh bright grass keeping the atmosphere light, perfect for the tailored sporty look Domenico and Stephano presented.

FWAC event - Artistic Expressions

In an effort to raise funds to build a hospital in Haiti, the Meaningful Minds Literacy Club for the Dorsainvil Foundation lined up musicians, singers, dance companies and poets for your viewing pleasure. Every once in a while, we come across people about whom we can't help but think - these individuals are truly genuine. We had the pleasure to speak to several of the organisers for Artistic Expressions for Haiti and let me (Kelie) tell you, you are in for a real treat. Showtime is on Sunday, June 27th from 5:00-9:00 p.m. at the New Hyde Park Elk's Lodge. What's in it for you? On top of the Haitian flavored entertainment, you will be served a full course dinner with drinks, included in a slew of raffles and given the opportunity to silently bid on artwork pieces. As if this wasn't enough, Dr. Dorsainvil himself will join the fete and share his heart for the challenges the Haitian community is facing and the project at hand. Come out for a fun filled evening with delicious Haitian cuisine, mingling and artistic expressions! This is an event you do not want to miss. From our heart to yours. Love, Kelie XO

Catch the trend?

As you might have noticed from our last 3 posts, we are hearting edgy yet feminine jewelry. Small earrings made out of chunky gems, antique gold chainmail cuffs, textured necklaces and the list goes on. These pieces are bold, they stand out and can win you tons of points on the edge -o-meter. There is an undeniable savoir-faire that goes into making pieces like the ones we are showcasing and these designers have hit the nail right on the head. Love, Kelie XO P.S.: More looks to come on Friday! :)
We have been on an online shopping binge for the past couple of days and we found these little wings earrings by Giles & Brother. Don't be fooled by the picture. They are actually quite dainty and can add the right amount of edge to any sophisticated outfit.

Giles & Brother, 18-karat gold-plated wing earrings. $70

Back by popular demand! Fashion Gives Back.

"Be the change you want to see in the world." We could not say it any better and here is your chance to do just that. On June 14, History Starts Now will be hosting their second annual Fashion gives back fashion show at Stone Rose lounge in Columbus Circle to raise awareness on human sex trafficking. Most people are not aware of the prevalence of this issue right here in New York City. HSN has made it their mission to shed light on New York's sex trafficking industry and all that it entails. In Kristina Lee Grandstaff's words:

History Starts Now, a non-profit organization aiding in the fight against sex trafficking of minors in the United States , is hosting their second annual “Fashion Gives Back” in less then two weeks. The event is on Monday, June 14th at 7pm at Stone Rose Lounge in Columbus Circle .

Leo Alexander will emcee the event, guest speaker, Kat Rohrer, Producer of Fatal Promises will show a clip from her documentary and HSN will give a presentation about sex trafficking in the U.S. as well as the vision of the team moving forward. This event will feature collections from designers including Tommy Hilfiger, Hugo Boss, Winner of Season 6, Project Runway Designer Irina Shabayeva, and LaQuan Smith, to name a few. Sponsors include Bumble + Bumble, MAC Cosmetics, Bloomingdales, pop chips and Equinox. Spend an evening to treat yourself to a fashion show while donating money to this very important mission. Enjoy a signature cocktail and discounted hor'derves. Gift Bags for the first 150 guests! Tickets for this event are $25 (students), $35 (general admission) and may be purchased at the door or online at www.HistoryStartsNow.org I sincerely hope that you will be able to make this event where fashion meets philanthropy for a greater purpose.

Don't be left in the dark. Come out to this glamorous event with a heart. Love, Kelie. XO

Charity: water and TOMS shoes team up and it's about time!

The buy one give one California based shoe giant TOMS is finally teaming up with our own New York based Charity: water. It's about time for these two grass roots extremely successful and ground breaking non-for-profit companies to join forces and spread more goodness around the world. Together they created two water-esque printed designs in the TOMS winning shoe style. Each design is available in their limited edition colorway. The map shoe is in navy and the water shoe is in deep blue.
When you buy The Water Project Shoe, $5 will be used to fund a well serving 540 people in the community of Sekura, Ethiopia. And as always, for every pair of shoes you purchase, TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need - One for One. This joint venture is definitely a great fashion meets awareness and then meets more awareness match.
Support the work of two organizations you love. Learn more and buy a pair now.
Love,
Kelie. XO
