Sneakers at a wedding? Everybody freak out!

I have to apologize for going under the radar for a couple of days. I was on heavy bridesmaid duty this weekend. One of my BFFs got hitched and needed my undivided attention for 3 days of celebration that felt more like a week. I am still recovering from it. Thursday was the rehearsal dinner, Friday the bachelorette party extravaganza and Saturday the wedding followed by a dinner for family and close friends.
This wedding was by far the most laid back and comfortable wedding I have ever been a part of. I woke up on Saturday morning, had complimentary breakfast at the hotel, took a shower, washed my hair, styled it, applied my make up, put on my jeans and walked over to the church where my wisteria dress and shoes were waiting for me. Since the hotel where we (the bride and the bridesmaids) were staying was only two blocs from the church, there was no need to rush or worry about traffic or MTA service changes.
Once I arrived at the church, I put on my dress and finishing touches and voila; I and the other girls were ready. The entire "female" bridal party was dressed and ready to go by 1pm. Did I mention that the wedding was at 2pm? How amazing is that? But this is not the best part. Believe it or not, the entire wedding party from the ring bearer to the pastor were sporting none other then Converse sneakers. I am a die hard heel person but my love for kicks has reached a new height since Saturday. At first, I was not warm to the idea. Of course I didn't let the bride know to what extend I cringed at the very thought of walking down the aisle in flats. I mean, who wears an evening gown with flats? At least give me a kitty heel! There is something about the extra 3 to 4 inches that just feels right when all eyes are on you. Well I had to do without the extra inches this time around. And surprisingly enough, not only was it extremely comfortable but it looked so cute.
The bride and groom had our kicks personalized which was a really nice touch! I recommend it to anyone who can think outside the Christian Louboutin box.
Love, Kelie.
PS: I caught the bouquet so wait and see what I'm going to do when I get hitched next year! ;) The only thing missing is a groom! Lol...

Just a thought...
